Martin County

Slow water, and houses built to be kept.

Martin County keeps its own pace. Stuart still has a downtown you can walk end to end, the Lyric still puts on a show, and a great many of the houses here were built by people who expected to stay in them. That suits the way we work. Most of what we are asked to do in Martin is not a flip — it is a kitchen that has to last another twenty years, a bathroom a couple can still use at eighty, a back porch that finally gets closed in properly. We take the drive up gladly.

Known for
  • Historic downtown Stuart
  • The St. Lucie River
  • Hutchinson Island beaches
  • A coastline with no high-rises

Martin County is the quiet end of South Florida, and it stayed that way on purpose. The county has long resisted the high-rise development that reshaped the coast further south, and the result is a place of low buildings, river frontage, and towns that still feel like towns.

We handle kitchens, bathrooms, flooring and tile, drywall, carpentry, painting and full interior renovation across Martin County — Palm City, Stuart, Jensen Beach and Hobe Sound.

What is different about renovating in Martin County

A completed KOZAK renovation
Our own work — every trade on this page is handled by the same in-house crew.

A high rate of owner-occupied homes

This is not a market of investors and short-term rentals. Most people here own the home they live in, often for a long time, and they renovate with the intention of staying. That changes the brief: quality that lasts twenty years matters more than something that photographs well for a listing.

Water is everywhere — river, Intracoastal and ocean

The St. Lucie River, the Indian River Lagoon and the coast define this county. Near the water, salt air and humidity dictate material choices, and waterproofing is not something to economise on.

Outside the strictest wind zone, but still coastal

Martin County sits outside the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone that covers Broward and Miami-Dade, but this is still a coastal county with serious wind-load requirements. Anything touching openings or structure has to be specified accordingly. Interior work is far simpler.

Development is deliberately restrained

Building height and density have been limited here for decades. Practically, that means the housing is low-rise, the neighbourhoods are established, and renovation rather than replacement is how most homes get updated.

Why homeowners here keep our number

KOZAK Ukrainian Services is family-owned. We spent more than fifteen years learning this trade in Ukraine, then rebuilt from nothing in South Florida after the war forced our family out. It is why we are careful with other people’s homes.

  • One team, every trade. Tile, drywall, paint, carpentry and cabinetry in-house — the schedule does not stall waiting on someone else.
  • Daily progress photos, so you always know what happened today.
  • A written, itemised estimate that does not move once work starts.
  • A clean site every evening — floors protected, dust contained, debris gone.
  • Licensed and insured, with a workmanship warranty behind the finished job.
